Kinder haben das Recht auf beide Eltern. In der Praxis sieht es für die Väter aber oft düster aus.

Das Recht der Väter, ihre Kinder regelmäßig zu sehen, wird von immer mehr Müttern systematisch unterwandert.

Ein betroffener Vater drückt es so aus:

"Es geht hier gar nicht um böser oder schlechter Papa, Geld oder so was. Schön wäre es, denn dann ist man immerhin noch Vater. Hier geht es schlicht und ergreifend um das Tilgen von Vaterschaft".

Der Film zeigt auf diese Weise "entsorgte" Väter, ihre Odyssee durch Gerichte und Jugendämter, die verzweifelten Versuche, ihre Kinder nicht endgültig zu verlieren.

Hinterfragt werden auch die Motive der Frauen, die von den Vätern ihrer Kinder nichts mehr wissen wollen. Außerdem sollen Kinder zu Wort kommen, die ihre Väter nicht mehr sehen dürfen.

Es bleibt die Frage, warum Väter ihre Rechte in Deutschland nicht durchsetzen können, obwohl Gerichte und Jugendämter "zum Wohle des Kindes" entscheiden müssen.
